On Saturday, June 13, Pikes Peak Pride in Colorado Springs brought back its ‘Rainbow Youth Square’—a vibrant, alcohol-free zone tailored specifically for queer youth and their families. Organizers created the space to offer younger attendees a dedicated sanctuary featuring games, creative workshops, and connections to local mental health and community resources.
The day was filled with several Drag Storytime readings, dance troupes, Youth Open Mic time, a Silent Disco with Silent Revolution, and also featured a Family Q&A. In a climate where queer youth frequently face isolation, creators say having a visible, joyful space at the heart of Pride is vital. It’s a powerful reminder that building a strong community starts with ensuring our youngest members know they belong.
