On Tuesday I was privileged enough to go see one of the true divas of our generation, Patty Lupone, at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. To say her show was moving would be the understatement of the year. Thursday was the return of DJ Miik’s Cuchifrito now being held at Johnny’s. If the crowd was an indicator, this is definitely a promotion that has beenn missed. Congrats to Miik and Sean David for bringing this back to South Florida. On Friday, Hotspots’ own Bobby Furedi celebrated his birthday at Bill’s. During the Hot Man Contest Miss Kitty brought Bobby on stage and brought out a cake that was sent by Miss Beasley. She also made Bobby show the audience a piece of his body. I won’t tell you what piece, but I will tell you Miss Kitty smacked it. I then walked down the block to see Kevin Aviance perform at the Manor.

whatshot2Afterwards I went to Living Room for their Avatar Party, which was packed and decorated to the max. Congratulations to Mark and Christian and their entire team for such a fabulous party!

whatshot3On Saturday in the Manchester Room of the Alibi Peter Clark produced a surprise party for his life partner, Cleto, for his 50th birthday. The food was delish and the guests entertained, with all of them happy to partake in such a stellar individual’s celebration. I would like to take this opportunity to wish Cleto a very happy birthday! Later that night Miami photographer Dale Stine celebrated his birthday at the Manor in the VIP Room. DJ Oren Nizri was pumping the beats phenomenally and kept the dance floor packed all night. Afterwards I headed down to Discotekka for the 2nd part of the Avatar Party entitled “Glow.” For those of you who haven’t been in a while, Discotekka now has 4 DJs in 3 rooms, with DJ Miik in the Forbidden Room with strippers, DJ Carlos G and MDW in the Discotekka Room spinning Hip Hop and Latin and DJ Jarell in the Mekka Room, spinning his fabulous mix of house music that keeps the boys entertained all night long. This was a busy week, so after 3 birthday parties and many other events its time for me to go into a coma before next weekend, which is Winter Party Weekend.

whatshot14ABSOLUT Vodka gives cocktail connoisseurs everywhere a new reason to drink exceptionally.  The eleventh unique flavor in the ABSOLUT portfolio, ABSOLUT BERRI AÇAÍ is an on-trend blend of açai, blueberry and pomegranate with an elegant focused berry aroma; a pure, vital and slightly juicy taste; and a smooth expressive, fresh and berry finish.  The new spirit is now available at bars, restaurants and retailers nationwide. Featuring a tangy and ripe berry-flavor that’s smooth and fresh with a natural sweetness, ABSOLUT BERRI AÇAÍ draws upon the characters of three of today’s most popular berry flavors – açaí, blueberry and pomegranate.

Like all ABSOLUT flavors, it creates exceptional cocktails when combined with anything from juices and sodas to muddled fruit and champagne.  Mixed with club soda, it conjures up a lazy summer afternoon, even in the winter.  Shake with cranberry juice and orange liqueur, it becomes an exceptionally flirty and delicious version of the Cosmopolitan.  Similar to its predecessors, ABSOLUT BERRI AÇAÍ  is made from all-natural ingredients and contains no sugar and no added preservatives. ABSOLUT introduced ABSOLUT PEPPAR (1986) and ABSOLUT CITRON (1988) at a time when no other brands thought of flavored vodka and single handedly helped propel two highly popular cocktails into the consumer psyche – the Bloody Mary and the Cosmopolitan.  Since then, ABSOLUT has been a pioneer within the category and with ABSOLUT BERRI AÇAÍ, ABSOLUT continues its tradition of developing flavors that inspire cocktail creations and takes mixology to a new level. Visit AbsolutDrinks.com or use the Drinkspiration application for iPhone or Android for recipes and inspiration. ABSOLUT BERRI AÇAÍ will be available in 750ml, 1L and 50ml sizes. The suggested retail price is $19.99/750ml.
