The Aqua Foundation For Women is one of Florida’s most important resources for LGBTQ+ women. Aqua scholarships are open to all LGBTQ+ women, transgender, intersex, and non-binary students who are pursuing a degree including associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and doctorate. The scholarship helps pay for tuition and supports scholars in their leadership development. Each scholar is paired with a mentor. The scholars and mentors meet regularly, attend events together, and meet quarterly as a group. Applicants must complete the entire application and submit it online. The application period opens on June 5 and will close on July 12 at 5 pm.

For considering the Aqua Scholarship Program, applicants must be enrolled at an accredited local tri-county college or university for the full academic year for which they are applying. The applicant should be actively pursuing an associate’s, bachelor’s, graduate, or professional degree. They should maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, also Applicants must identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community. If anyone chooses the Aqua Scholarship Program, participants are expected to attend a variety of events and activities. These events include the LGBTQ+ Emerging Leaders Conference, Four scholar/mentor meetings, Monthly meetings with their assigned mentor, and Volunteer for 10 hours of community service, Participation in the program’s designated community service projects, and Aqua special events.
