whatshot1On Tuesday, December 1st Broward House held their second annual World AIDS Day Candlelight March in Wilton Manors. It was a windy night, but that didn’t stop over 850 people with lit candles from walking down Wilton Drive remembering those we’ve lost to HIV/AIDS. The walk came to an end in Georgie’s Alibi parking lot with memorable words from Terry DeCarlo and Angelo Castillo from Broward House, Broward County Mayor Ken Keechl, Wilton Manors Mayor Gary Resnick, among others. On Friday night some of the Hotspots crew was in Miami Beach to check out Bill Maher live at the Fillmore.  If you have only seen him do his HBO panel shows the standup experience is a little freer and less impartial. His act is refreshing, eye opening and as real as it gets. His “take no prisoners” attitude comes out loud and clear when it comes to his style of comedy and insightful views and opinions of the world.  Afterwards we went over to the grand opening of Noche Latina Friday’s, finally in Miami after over 11 years in Fort Lauderdale. The new location is on Calle Ocho at La Casa De Tula, and it was packed with beautiful Latin eye candy.  The night featured fabulous Latin music, a beautiful patio, hot go-go boys and performances by Vegas Dion, Erika Norell and Justice Divine. Congratulations to Rolando Garcia and the staff of NLf for a fabulous grand opening. Saturday afternoon Pride of Greater Fort Lauderdale hosted a thank you party for the sponsors and volunteers of Wicked Manors in Richardson Park.  Even though it rained, the barbeque was great.
