With class and style the much anticipated Hamburg Mary’s Bar & Grille – YBOR CITY had a soft opening last weekend. Located on the second floor of Centro Ybor, the very colorful, campy restaurant with a full balcony on 7th Ave. is a very welcomed addition to The GaYBOR District. Inside you will be impressed by the art work and GLBTA collectible’s. An original painting from Rosie O’Donnell, a guitar played and signed by Melissa Etheridge and a signed photo album by iconic legend Judy Garland are just a few of the pieces in the collection. The true stars are the fantastic staff and the incredible hamburgers, served in Mary’s tradition. Open every day at 11am.
The group gathered at The Reservoir then went across the street to the Honey Pot where they were getting ready for the Miss Black Drag Pageant. Our next stop was around the corner into Streetcar Charlie’s, but not before playing their piano outside first. On our way to the Ybor Social and Ybor Eagle we stopped at MC Film Fest for Rice Krispy Bars with rainbow decorations. We went down 8th Ave to Spurs Country Western Bar, where Kevin was waiting for us with mohitos. At Gaspar’s Grotto Courtyard you could see a sky full of stars. Back up to 16th and 7th Ave. into the newly opened JJ’s Cafe & Bar, where the renovations were very impressive. We then headed over the bridge to Centro 20 Muvico to have popcorn and beer in the Premier Lounge/Theatre. We headed back over the bridge again to Centro Canteen for test tube shots and frozen drinks and then around the corner was Teatro on Seventh for a very impressive buffet of sample items by their award winning chef! Downstairs just past Reservoir was New York New York Pizza with free beer and $1 slices of pizza. Last stop was G.BAR, where the dancing partiers went on into the early morning hours. The GaYBOR Coalition raised funds, the party people found new fun places and the merchants all received excellent exposure!

The Sawmill Campground presents the 11th annual Festival of Lights and the 2nd annual Spirit of the Season Celebration during the weekend of December 18th through December 20th. Gold and white attire is suggested for this weekend of events.
Platinum Fridays and Neema Productions presents Desiree Demornay’s birthday bash at Pulse on Friday, December 18th with free cake and cotton candy. Showtime is at 12:30 am and is hosted by Angelica Sanchez and stars Tyra Sanchez and Lady Marissa as well as a special birthday performance by Desiree. DJ Scott Robert spins all night.
The second annual December Delights Winter Bash takes place at Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel in Tampa on Saturday, December 19th from 9 pm to 2 am. The entertainment will be by the Rhythm-N-Blues Show.
