Hello everyone here we are again, in the fall of another year and the fall offs of the charts. But let’s not hover over the past; let’s talk about what’s going to warm your buns and your ear drums this month. First to be served up, a toasty little favorite of yours and mine. “Loud,” the new album from Rihanna herself, speaks volumes about her new attitude and lyrics. The title track “Only Girl (In the World)” returns Rihanna back to her hard hitting bad girl vocals that made her famous, singing about her need for total devotion from her lover and how she wants her lover to make her feel like the only girl in the world (Honey, don’t we all!).

Hello everyone here we are again, in the fall of another year and the fall offs of the charts. But let’s not hover over the past; let’s talk about what’s going to warm your buns and your ear drums this month.

sound-off-rihannaFirst to be served up, a toasty little favorite of yours and mine. The hard hitting bass vibrates throughout and is only enhanced by Stargate’s mastering of electros with heart pounding synths that are almost never equaled. For all the dance divas out there (we know you are one) the original 126 bpm CD version is perfect. For those that really want to shake their groove thang, may I suggest DJ Ranny’s Club Mix? The style in this remix that makes it so special is the added FX, dripping with overflowing electro key backgrounds and a thumping bass put to 130 bpm. DJ Ranny puts the bad back into this bad girl’s bad ass single.

Island Def Jam Music Group (IDJMG) Chairman/CEO Antonio “L.A.” Reid says, “This is the truest Rihanna album yet because it sounds the most like her first one.” Reid continues, “[Her 2005 debut single] ‘Pon De Replay,’ that was obviously Rihanna at her purest, with that Caribbean-flavored dance-pop music. After that, she went in many different directions only to find herself right back where she really started.” We could not have said it better, Mr. Chairman.

For being only 22 years old she joins the ranks of Top Female Vocal Performers of the WORLD, currently #6! Here are just some of the statistics for her:

Records Sold: 8.7 Million
Top Ten Hits: 16
Number 1 Hits: 6 (She’s in a four-way tie with Beyoncé, Mariah Carey and Lady Gaga for the most chart-toppers in its 18-year history)

Artist: Rihanna
Album: Loud
Producer: Stargate

“I wanted songs that only I can do, not generic songs that everyone else could sing,” Rihanna said when I asked her what drives her passion for her song selection. The 9 tracks on “Loud” can make you shake, cry and feel great about yourself, so join us as we get “Loud” about Rihanna once again.

sound-off-ray-boltzAnother welcomed warm and fuzzy has been making headlines for some time now. From selling over 5 million albums and singing in front of millions at a time, Mr. Ray Boltz says, “That feels like a lifetime ago.” Ray Boltz was the #1 selling Christian artist for years and years. Then he came out as gay in a cover story by the Washington Blade. His career was ruined and shattered in the Christian community, his family and music shunned by those who just months before called him “a gift from God.” What does a man do? You shared the admiration of millions around the world, sat beside and spoke with Mother Theresa herself, performed to millions and now all that is gone. Ray’s answer shook me to the core and I had to fight back the tears to hear a man of his stature say, “I had to be truthful with myself, and my family first. My children and my wife, Carol, knew I was struggling. They didn’t know why, but they knew I was. I prayed for 30 years for God to make me straight, to fix me and I discovered one thing, God loved me for who I am. I just needed to do the same thing.” So what is the multiple Dove Award winner do? He becomes “True.”

The latest release from Ray Boltz, produced by HitPlay Productions, “Don’t Tell Me Who to Love,” is the new smash hit single off his new CD “True.” At no other time has a song meant so much to so many, and at no other time has such a gifted artist brought so much truth to us in just one song. However Ray’s new smash single does so much more than that. As a contemporary Christian artist, Ray Boltz has sold millions and millions of records. Since his coming out Ray has focused on the truth, not only in his religious life but also the lives of so many others. His CD “True” could not be more aptly named. “True,” like most of Ray’s songs, brings home not only the melodies and rhythm of great songs of the past but blends the future hopes with strings and electro beats that make you want to dance as you hear it. “Don’t Tell Me Who to Love” not only sends a message but inspires us all to dance to a different beat…the beat and rhythm of truth.
