On Tuesday, March 1st The Mack Lunch celebrated its 6th anniversary with a packed luncheon at China Grill. Congratulations to Danny and DJ on 6 fabulous years and here’s hoping they have many more successful years to come. Thursday night I got a little butch and went to the Panthers game at the Bank Atlantic Center. I was lucky enough to be invited to the ADT box seats which came along with tons of free food and free beer and wine which helped console me after Montreal clobbered the Panthers…LOL! On Friday as part of the South Beach Comedy Fest a bunch of the Hotspots and Genre Latino staff went to see Wanda Sykes at The Fillmore.

On Friday as part of the South Beach Comedy Fest a bunch of the Hotspots and Genre Latino staff went to see Wanda Sykes at The Fillmore. Although we were not excited about the fact that it started 40 minutes late her opening act and then Wanda herself made up for this by delivering top quality performances that kept us in stitches.
Also that night, Smarty Pants was celebrating the birthday of Don Casteel, which brought in all his fans to a superbly decorated bar. Pompano Bill (who was there representing Hotspots) said it was a real fun crowd.
This weekend was also the annual Winter Party, which is 6 days in Miami Beach (and one party in Fort Lauderdale at Boom) with lots of events raising money for the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. My favorite event is always the beach party, because there is just something magical about being on the beach during the day listening and partying to fabulous music. Kudos to my buddy Alison Calagna for spinning a fabulous set!

Sidelines Sports Bar is having a benefit to raise money for their Aids Walk Florida team from 7 to 9 pm. The event is $40 per person and features a full open bar, catered hot hors d’oeuvres, raffles, prizes and giveaways. Tickets are available from your favorite bartender or manager at Sidelines or at the door on the day of the event.
The Pride Factory wants everyone to celebrate pride so they are taking 15% off all pride gear from today until March 16th.
Johnny’s is starting a new Thursday’s starring, for the first time ever, the world’s tiniest male entertainers. Each Thursday will have a different theme with tonight’s being Wonka’s Chocolate Factory starring the Oompa Loompa’s.
Score in association with Fly-Life inc. presents the official gay party for WMC 2011 featuring performances by Eva, iSquare, Kelli from Bravo’s hit NYC Prep, Neon Hitch, Wynter Gordon and Jessie and the Boys. The night will star house DJ Pride along with some special guest DJs.

Club Sugar in association with Alex Infiniti brings Jessica Wild from RuPauls Drag Race Season 2. She will be performing, for the first time in Miami, her smash hit “You Like It Wild.” The night will also star resident DJ Jarell along with shows by TP Lords and Sasha Lords.

YouTube sensation and producer, rapper, and nightlife impresario Cazwell will be making waves this Winter Music Conference. Known best for his scandalously titillating “Ice Cream Truck” video, Cazwell will be working the turntables at BASE on Lincoln Road, during an exclusive Cazwell CD/DVD meet-and-greet and cocktail reception on from 5 to 9 pm. Afterwards, he will be hosting a VIP dinner at The Lords South Beach, where he will premiere his new song and video, “Get My Money Back”, which has also been directed by Marco Ovando and feature a new batch of gorgeous dancers. This will be the first screening of the video in the nation!

The Broward County School Board just voted to add “gender identity and expression” to the district’s non-discrimination policy. The expansion of the non-discrimination policy means that students, faculty and all school district employees will be protected from any form of gender-based discrimination. With 256,000 students, Broward is now the largest school district in Florida to add “gender identity and expression” to its non-discrimination protections.
