Hotspots Announces Major Expansion. Florida ranks as the second largest LGBT state in the nation.
According to Wikipedia, Florida is the second largest LGBT state in America behind California and ahead of New York. While not official, some estimate that the gay community in Florida has reached over one million strong! It is no surprise given the natural beauty and splendor that is our home state not to mention the stunning beaches and seemingly endless supply of sunshine.
As the longest running gay publication (we try not to say oldest), not only have we kept pace with Florida’s tremendous growth, we have stayed ahead of it. For more than 25 years Hotspots has proudly served as the voice of the LGBT community. No other publication in the nation can make that claim. According to statistics, South Florida enjoys the highest LGBT population in the state.
It may surprise you to learn that the highest concentration of LGBT residents in the state is not in Miami or Wilton Manors, but rather in Orlando and Tampa based on total metropolitan population.
Having said all of that, it’s no wonder that Florida has grown into the second largest LGBT state in the nation!
As we meet in Orlando this week for the largest gay celebration in the state, we are proud to introduce the Central Florida Edition of Hotspots Magazine, as a further commitment to our investment in our vibrant LGBT community and substantiating the credibility of our 100% Florida mission statement. Our enhanced presence in Central Florida will benefit all Hotspots readers and advertisers around the state as most of the features and all advertising will be included in both versions of the publication.
