Last Monday was the much anticipated Roast of Pompano Bill at the Boardwalk. If you were there you know how obvious it is that this community loves Pompano as the Boardwalk was packed with the who’s who in the Fort Lauderdale gay scene. lgbt-events-south-florida-2Wednesday evening was the grand opening of Wilton Manors Doggie Day care on Dixie Highway. Owners Josh and Alan created a environment that is modern but yet a cozy place that one would be happy to leave their “best friends” at! Mayor Resnick and a lot of city officials were on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony and to partake in the festivities afterwards. Check them out whether you want a day of grooming, a weekend stay or some spa treatment (s) for your pooch!

Friday evening, Hotspots own editor, Sheri Elfman, was celebrating the start of her birthday weekend with a small get together at the Alibi. Just close friends and a fun time.

lgbt-events-south-florida-4I then headed over to the annual Chic Optique benefit for the Smart Ride. The event was packed and after 20 minutes I left because I wanted to give the people on line a chance to get in. Congrats to Karen, Julie and the entire staff for organizing such a successful event for such a worthy charity!

lgbt-events-south-florida-3This past weekend was the 1st annual Chambord weekend in Miami with lots of events starting on Friday and going through Sunday night. Congrats to Hernan, Thomas and the entire Chambord weekend staff for a fabulous inaugural year!
