Saturday, October 1 on Miami Beach

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. – The first-ever Celebrate ORGULLO, a festival showcasing LGBT Hispanic Pride during Hispanic Heritage Month, will soon descend upon Miami Beach. The lineup of dazzling talent and anticipation continues to grow as October 1st approaches. Music, entertainment, folkloric groups, a dance contest and performances by renowned artists such as FM5, Andres Cuervo, Christian TY, Barbara Muñoz, Norka, Jose Enrique will hit the stage. Local divas Adora, Marytrini, Mariloly and Shanaya Bright will bring their unique style of glitz and glamour to the beautiful sandy beaches of Miami Beach.

A previously scheduled appearance and performance by multi-Grammy winner, Olga Tañón, has been cancelled by the artist and her manager. Olga’s management has released the following statement:

“Much to our dismay, we had to terminate Olga Tañón’s participation in the (Celebrate ORGULLO) Hispanic and LGBT Pride scheduled for October 1. The reason is a very personal one and has nothing to do with the event, the Hispanic and/or LGBT community or the South Florida community. Olga Tañón has always publicly supported the Hispanic and LGBT communities throughout her career through her performances and appearances. We hope to be present and together again in the near future.” – Denizard Billy, Manager for Olga Tañón

“While this is unfortunate, the committee organizing Celebrate Orgullo is diligently working to enhance the entertainment line-up. The committee remains focused on embracing the true purpose and spirit for which the festival was founded – to celebrate and build awareness of the cultural contributions of the Hispanic community,” said Ivan Cano, executive committee member of Celebrate Orgullo.

Celebrate ORGULLO will feature a fun and diverse line-up of performances, dozens of colorful vendor, food and drink pavilions, personal appearances by 93.9 DJ CHANEL, live programming by various media outlets and a Miami Beach Pavilion with a myriad of exciting activities for the whole family.

The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) in partnership with The City of Miami Beach is a direct collaborator of this fabulous event and will spice up the fete with a booth that will include a hotel weekend giveaway at The Lords Hotel along with VIP passes for premier LGBT events in the destination. In addition, the interactive station will include music, dancing, airbrushed tattoos, fun-filled photo booth sessions and delicious “granizados” – a Miami favorite.

“Celebrate Orgullo will fulfill its mission of celebrating Hispanic culture and take place within the heart of Miami Beach, a city that has repeatedly demonstrated its commitment to the Hispanic LGBT community. And, that is why we couldn’t think of a better place to honor those that have made a significant contribution to our rich and diverse community like Mayor Matti Bower and Detective Juan Sanchez,” said Herb Sosa, executive committee member.
