On Friday night, Living presented Native Pride as a celebration for Christian (co-owners) birthday. They picked this theme because Christian wanted to kiki in a teepee and that he did (look at pic). I would like to take this opportunity to wish Christian a very happy birthday. I then headed down to South Beach for the official pre-party of Celebrate Orgullo at Bar 721. Dan, his staff, and promoter George Coronado were all extremely attentive. Bar 721 is always a fun place to hang. Afterwards I headed to Twist to hang out with my buddy Steve. I generally am not a stripper kind of guy, but I must say that there were some beautiful specimens in the bungalow at Twist. Hence the reason I didn’t get to bed till 4am! Saturday was the first annual Celebrate Orgullo in Miami Beach which was a coming together of the community during Hispanic Heritage Month to celebrate Latin pride. At press time I was told a bit over 2600 people attended the inaugural year which featured incredible live entertainment, hostess Marytrini, drag performances, folkloric dance, a dance competition, food, drinks and lots of fun. Mark your calendars for next year’s Celebrate Orgullo on Saturday, October 6th.

Robert Hofmann, author and humorist, comes to Stonewall National Museum & Archives at 7PM. Robert Hofmann grew up in New Jersey and what a wild, crazy and wonderful life he has had. Between his family and his friends, he guides the reader through many exciting episodes of his life. It is wickedly bitchy and hilarious! Everyone in Robert’s life so far is a participant in his wonderfully funny and provocative stories of his life. In his newest book, we are taken on yet another wild ride into Robert Hofmann’s hilarious world. Hofmann doesn’t mind telling on himself either. He tells tales about himself as well as others. In his latest memoir he devotes one chapter about the loss of his dear mother which we can all relate to. Other chapters are devoted to trailer trash, hot in leather, love and loss and other chapters dealing with parties, friends and “not so close friends,” making fun of others as well as himself and just great reading.   Stonewall National Museum & Archives is located at 1300 East Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale,. Hot Stuff

lgbt-events-south-florida-11Fans of college football need not wait any longer, because between now and December, Sidelines Sports Bar will show all of the NCAA college football games listed on the gridiron’s schedule. Games typically are played on Saturdays and at Sidelines, you’ll find the diehard alumni fan base dressed in their teams’ colors, chanting their team’s war cries, and high-fiving each other when their team takes it down the field to score that coveted touchdown.

The Pet Project for Pets, Inc. a local 501© (3) nonprofit organization located in Oakland Park, FL, welcomes back Michael Mulheron as the new Associate Director/Resource Development Specialist. Mulheron, who had served previously as Director of Fundraising, will now direct all resource development funding streams such as corporate and individual donations/gifts, fundraising special events, sponsorships, partnerships and grants. In addition, Mulheron will steer the organizations marketing and advertising, special event planning, and act as a liaison to the community. “I’m truly excited to be back with such a great organization such as the Pet Project. As an owner of two dogs myself, I know firsthand how expensive it is to own and maintain an animal, so I can hole heartily get behind and see the value of the Pet Project’s mission to keep pets and their owners together during a health related or financial crisis” said Mulheron.
