Madonna who wore a Cub Scout uniform and expressed her support for GLAAD’s year-long campaign to end the Boy Scouts’ ban on gay scouts and scout leaders, saying “I think they should change their stupid rules, don’t you?” Thirty years later and I still love me some Madonna!

WHSF-DepotOn Thursday, the Village Pub had a special show featuring Joe Posa and Thirsty Burlington as Joan Rivers and Cher. This show was super fun! Sunday featured 2 big events: the first was the 5th anniversary of The Depot, which combined their very popular pool with the monthly Fuzz T Dance and the SFAAA Softball After Party. As you can imagine the Depot was packed with fun people having a great time. Congrats to Jim and Marc and their entire staff! Later on was the Equality Florida Miami Gala at the beautiful Bass Museum on South Beach. This event is always busy including elected officials, community leader, business owners, and just concerned citizens (gay and straight) who want to make a difference, but this was clearly the busiest Miami Gala they ever had.  This pic is of the VIP reception, so you can only imagine how packed the Gala was. A special hello to my friend Sharon Kersten of Kersten Communications; it was wonderful to see her.

WHSF-EQFLThis column is generally about fun stuff, but every once in a while sad things happen. One of the most influential Female impersonators in our country, Erica Andrews, passed away suddenly last week. Erica not only was a former Miss GAY USA, Entertainer of the Year, Miss Continental, but she also won Universal Show Queen and Miss International Queen and countless other pageants. However, what made her truly special was her innate ability to touch people with her kindness and good nature. WHSF-EricaAndrewsShe was the true definition of a Queen, and will be missed always!
