On Friday & Saturday night, the original Fort Lauderdale Gay Men’s Chorus presented its 27th season finale Concert, “A Gala Old Time,” at the Museum of Art. Once again, the crowds were out to hear this wonderful chorus. Also on Friday night, I went to Rumors for the premier of their new Friday show starring Daisy Deadpetals and guests.
This week’s guests were Athena Dion and Tayanna Love who put on a fun show (2 shows at approximately 11pm and 12 midnight). Saturday night was filled with many events starting in the afternoon when Boys Night Out presented a pool party at Depot as a benefit for Smart Ride. Later on that night, Bill’s presented their monthly D.I.L.F, which is a Levi/Leather event starring DJ Herbie James and lots of sexy hairy men. At the Manor, they featured the Coliseum Reunion Party, which was packed, and brought out lots of faces that I haven’t seen in a long time. Everybody remembers how fun the Coliseum was. In addition, in the Latin Room they featured, direct from Puerto Rico, the beautiful Lorna Vando who had the crowd screaming! In Doral, Solare Coliseum, featured, direct from RuPaul’s Drag race Season 5, Alyssa Edwards to the delight of the crowds!
The annual Key West Pride was all weekend long and it was as busy as usual.

South Florida Gay News and The Marlins come together for a baseball game promoting equality in sports which will benefit some South Florida LGBT organizations and Allied Youth programs. The Marlins Will be playing the St Louis Cardinals with ticket pricing starting at $20. There will be a social mixer from 5-6pm and game time is approx 7:10 pm. The Alibi cordially invites everyone to the 16th annual Miss Alibi Turnabout Pageant, which is a fundraiser for the Human Rights Campaign. The Silent auction will be from 7:30-9:30 and the pageant starts at 9 pm. This is also the official opening party for the Stonewall Street Festival.
The Boardwalk, Victor Zepka, Corrie Boyd and the entire Boardwalk staff present a benefit for Florida’s own, Tiffany Arieagus as she recovers from a heart attack. The night will feature performances by Florida’s finest female impersonators, silent auctions, live auctions and lots of love for one of our own, so please come out and support!
