Tuesday was the annual Wilton Manors Taste of The Island at Richardson Park. The event was extremely busy with the community coming out to see and taste what all the restaurants and liquor companies had to offer. Congrats to Krishan Manners on a great event. On Thursday there were two events. The first was Adams Interiors 4th annual “An Evening of Elegance,” which was a benefit for Hospice by the Sea. The event featured live music by Atlantis, magician performances, raffles, complimentary hors d’oeuvres and wine and a fabulous silent auction. Once again this event was a huge success and raised much needed funds for the Hospice. Later that night the Stable presented the Korn Queen Pageant 2013, which was an official Bubba’s Country Fair event, at 9 p.m. The pageant was hosted by Raejean Cox with a special guest appearance by Candy Cornhole Cox. Congrats to the winner, Jessica Channing, who was in full drag regalia all weekend at Bubba’s Country Fair at Scandals. Speaking of the fair, it was a huge success Saturday and Sunday with lots of events happening all day long. My favorite was the human gerbil race….seriously, so much fun! On Saturday night, three events happened. The first was The Pride Wind Ensemble presenting “All’s Fair in Love and War” at the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center For The Performing Arts to a sold-out crowd. Also, the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force presented the annual Miami Recognition Dinner called Sparkle at the Fontainebleau Hotel, which had been sold out for over a week. Once again this was an amazing event. Later that night The Manor Complex celebrated their 4th anniversary with a theme party entitled “Mount Olympus” and featured recording artist Kristine W, along with performances by Erika Norell and cast, Viva Mirage and direct from Puerto Rico, Lorna Vando. The club was packed and it was an epic night. Congrats to Brett, Paul, Jason, Gary and the entire staff on four fabulous years and here’s wishing them many more years of success!whsf_1
