You Just Can’t Make This Stuff Up! Times and Games Are Changing
Marriage equality is now legal in Florida. Anybody who has every been to a hetero bridal shower knows about all the silly games, like “pin the penis on the doll.” Well, at a lesbian bridal shower, there are the same silly games, but with a twist. At a recent lesbian bridal shower, the name of the game was “Can you guess your wife’s breasts?” They blindfolded one of the girls, then they had six contestants line up. Some of the guys put on bras and they added jewelry to the real wife. To everybody’s delight, she guessed the right person. This got us thinking, “Hmm…what would happen at a shower for two guys?” LOL LOL

Pride in Beijing
We were honored to be invited as part of the gay ambassadors’ delegation from the U.S. to China back in 2001. We were invited by the Chinese government to show off their open diversity in China. The gay group delegation members came from Fort Lauderdale, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and us from Tampa.
We came upon this new gay bar that just had opened in the outskirts expansion of Beijing. Our tour guide stayed with us but asked, “Boys in the band, how do you know this place is gay?”
As we ventured out, we experienced the incredible Great Wall of China; we saw the first openly-performed gay play in Beijing; we met the young gay Chinese movie director, Zhang Yuan, who directed the historic, controversial 1996 film, “East Palace, West Palace;” and we witnessed the first gay marriage ceremony in the Forbidden City. Rev. Grant Ford from Fort Lauderdale’s Sunshine Cathedral and others were among the contingent.
