The South Florida Symphony, under the direction of Maestra Sebrina Maria Alfonso, brings to you another show in their summer music series. This show is called “A World of Pride” and will have two performances. The first is on Sunday, June 7 at 7:30 p.m. at The Studios of Key West
For this show, the South Florida Symphony Orchestra decided to bring audiences something different. This show combines music and the spoken word. Various members of the South Florida Symphony will talk to the audience about gay pride, what pride means to them, and how being gay affected their lives and also how they look at music. The musical selections at this concert all have the same theme, namely that of “gay composers.” All of the music performed at these concerts are from well-known gay composers, from the Baroque period through to today. Expect music from such well-known luminaries as George Frideric Handel and Aaron Copland, among others.
