Everyone who loves good food and drink in South Florida, listen up, because you’ll want to attend this event. The annual “Pairings” evening, organized by New Times Broward/Palm Beach, will be held this year at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday, September 10, with a VIP reception beginning at 6 p.m. and general admission ticketholders welcomed at 7 p.m.
“Pairings” combines food from some of the finest award-winning restaurants in Broward and Palm Beach Counties with local, national, and international wine selections. In addition to wines, spirits will also be available for craft cocktails, and the finest craft beer in Florida (and nationwide) will be served as well. Live entertainment will be going on throughout the evening, and at 10 p.m. there will be a special after party at one of the participating venues. A number of chefs will be participating in this event, representing a diverse field of restaurants from all over the two-county area. Participating restaurants include Adena Grill & Wine Bar, Bravo Ristorante, Cafe Maxx, Cafe Med, the Carrabba’s Italian Grill Fort Lauderdale location, Colada Cuban Coffee House and Eatery, El Agave Azul Taqueria, The Feisty Bull, Fork & Balls, The Garlic Knot, Gelato Petrini, Green Spot Kitchen, Hardy Park Bistro, Market 17, McCoy’s Oceanfront, New River Grill & Pizza, The New Vegan, S3 Restaurant, Seventh Street Catering, Steak 954, SuViche, Ten Palms Restaurant, Royal Treatz, Thasos Taverna, WOK, and YOLO Restaurant.
Sponsors of the New Times Broward/Palm Beach Pairings include Monark Premium Appliance Company, Anheuser Busch, Vero Water, and Wine Watch, among others.
Ticket prices range from $35 for general admission to $90.50 for the VIP experience. VIP ticketholders are allowed to arrive at 6 p.m. and will be allowed to sample food, wine, spirits and beer that will not be served during the main event. They will also be allowed access to the special VIP lounge. A portion of ticket sales for this event will benefit Voices for Children, a program that pairs abused children with guardians at litem in Broward County.
