3rd Annual Pink Flamingo Awards Presented by the LGBT Visitor Center

Jungle Island

Thursday, September 24

v3037_080The third annual Pink Flamingo Awards are just around the corner! The Pink Flamingo Awards honor people, places and organizations that have demonstrably and excellently served the South Florida LGBT community in the past twelve months. Presented by the LGBT Visitor Center in Miami Beach, the Pink Flamingo Awards will be given out during an evening of fun at the Treetop Ballroom at Jungle Island (1111 Parrot Jungle Trl., Miami), Thursday, September 24, from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

“The Pink Flamingo Awards party is the quintessential commemoration of ‘Community Celebrating Community,’” said Lori Lynch, Executive Director of the LGBT Visitor Center. “It’s not only an opportunity for the community to honor those who serve or entertain them year ‘round, but also to put the ‘fun’ back in fundraiser.  This year’s awards celebration will include lots of surprises, making for an evening to remember.”

Over 500 movers and shakers in South Florida’s LGBT community are expected to attend. Attendees can expect a fun evening beginning with a cocktail reception featuring open bars, a three-course dinner, live entertainment, and a stunning opener featuring the evening’s master of ceremonies, comedian ANT. ANT hosted the Pink Flamingo Awards last year and he was more than happy to return to the role of emcee this year.

The Pink Flamingo Awards are also the large-scale annual fundraising event for Miami Beach’s LGBT Visitor Center. All proceeds donated during the awards, as well as all proceeds from ticket sales, will directly benefit the LGBT Visitor Center and will continue to allow them to serve both locals and tourists alike who want to know more about the LGBT scene in South Florida.

Awards will be given out across 21 different categories this year. Voting is currently underway at pinkflamingoawards.com and will wrap up on September 18, with the winners being announced at the awards ceremony. The nominees in each category are:
