Murray and Peter presents “Pray the Gay Away” starring the Zakar Twins was extended for a third week, and this is the last weekend you can see this hilarious show. It plays through Sunday at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. 

The GFLGLCC Quarterly luncheon will also be their Awards luncheon which will take place at Wild Thyme Oceanside Eatery where Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantilis will be their guest speaker and awards presenter. The luncheon is from 11:30am to 1pm and the cost (which includes tax and gratuity) is $40 for members and $45 for future members. RSVP is required to Keith@gflglcc.org.

The original Fort Lauderdale Gay Men’s Chorus presents “Goes Out and About” at the Pub from 7-9pm. This fundraiser will feature “Name the Song” with Michael Ross and Cliff Roberts. General admission is $20 with VIP tables of four for $125, which includes a bottle of Liquor (pre-buy). A buffet by Chef Howie is included with admission. The fundraiser will also feature a silent auction and a 50/50. 

GLLN presents their next CLE Luncheon at Timpano’s (450 Las Olas Boulevard) from 11:45am to 1:15pm. The luncheon is open to everyone and the guest speaker will be Navin A. Ramnath, Senior Bar Counsel at the Florida Bar and she will speak on the topic of: Professionalism Standards Today. A case law review and practices approach.” The cost is $30 for members and $35 for non-members at GLLN.org

Comedian Michael Yo will be appearing at the Miami Improv (3450 NW 83rd Ave #224, Doral) tonight and tomorrow. Michael Yo is also an Actor, and TV Host known for his work on E!’s Chelsea Lately, is a regular on The Talk, The Wendy Williams Show and The Today Show. This self-proclaimed “Half-Black Brother with a Korean Mother” has also appeared on E! News, Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami and his own show, Yo on E!. Michael is currently a co-host on CBS’s The Insider. Tickets are $22 at Miamiimprov.com

Saturday, September 7

The Club Fort Lauderdale presents their bi-monthly (1st and 3rd Saturday of the month) Res-erection, a second coming party starting at 10pm. This party usually sells out, so arrive early! 

Bourbon Street Pub and The New Orleans House presents the official Womensfest pool party from noon to 5pm. This is an all welcome pool party and will feature topless foam party, games, prizes, and a Jacuzzi. Music will be by DJ Rude Girl

The public is invited to attend Wilton Manors’ first Health & Wellness Expo, organized by the Wilton Manors Business Association. The event takes place at the Hagen Park Community Center from 5-8 p.m. It is free and open to the public. It seems like the hottest star out there these days is Lizzo, who will be performing at the Fillmore tonight at 8pm. In 2019, she attained mainstream success with the release of her third studio album, Cuz I Love You, which debuted at number six on the Billboard 200.The album spawned two singles—”Juice” and “Tempo“—while the deluxe version of the album included her 2017 single, “Truth Hurts“, which became a viral sleeper hit reaching the top three of the Billboard Hot 100. Aside from singing and rapping, Lizzo is also an actress, appearing in the movie Hustlers and as a voice over artist in UglyDolls, and plays the flute. Her opening act is Ari Lennox. The producers of Moulin Rouge! The Musical and RCA Records are pleased to announce that the Original Broadway Cast Recording of the smash hit new musical is now available at all digital and streaming providers by Baz Luhrmann’s label, House of Iona, and RCA Records. (A physical edition of the album will be made available on October 25) 

Moulin Rouge! The Musical opened to rave reviews on July 25, 2019 and is now playing at Broadway’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre.
