The Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall presents Lewis Black. Southern nights Tampa presents the 2020 Mr. and Miss Tampa Pride Pageant at 8pm. There is a $100 entry fee to compete, and registration at 4pm. Winners receive $500 cash.
Categories of competition… Themed Presentation: “Passionate in Purple”, Evening Gown/Formal Wear, On-Stage Interview and Talent (seven minute maximum). The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts presents Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater at 7:30pm. Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater grew from a now-fabled performance in March 1958 at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. The Hard Rock Event Center at the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa presents Jeff Foxworth with two shows: 7 and 9:30pm. Jeff Foxworthy is one of the most respected and successful comedians in the country. He is the largest selling comedy-recording artist in history, a multiple GRAMMY Award nominee and best- selling author of more than 26 books. In 2014, he was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame. The Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts presents IL VOLO: The Best of 10 Years at 8pm. From their debut in 2011 to the present day, the three young artists have performed over 300 concerts in 210 cities on 3 continents, mostly sold out, with plans for future tours throughout Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. A total of over 2.000,000 paying audience members have attended their concerts. The Tampa Imrov presents Michael Rapaport tonight and tomorrow, Saturday, February 22. Michael is an American actor and comedian. The Straz Center for the Performing Arts presents Che Malambo, the Powerhouse All-Male Dance Company From Argentina who performs in the South American cowboy (gaucho) tradition. Che Malambo’s mission is to share the spellbinding strength, agility and power of gaucho physical art forms. The guys engage in the malambo – a dance duel featuring the zapateo, a competition of furious footwork imitating horses’ hooves.
