On Friday evening, Dawn Holloway and Howard Andrew along with a host of volunteers presented their final FREE dinner giveaway. They have been doing this for the last 3 months and have fed many people that really needed food in this difficult time. Hotspots Magazine would like to thank them for taking care of our community! 

Patrick Parker Graham, along with Scott Schramm presented Pride Flotilla 2020 along the Inter-coastal and New River waterway. It began at Hugh Taylor Birch State Park, and ended at the basin in front of The Broward Center of Performing Arts last Sunday, June 21 featuring many boats decorated in celebration of Gay Pride. They encouraged everyone to follow social distancing guidelines, and follow all local regulations regarding Covid-19. This was a fun and colorful event! 

Saturday June 27

Thanks to everyone who donated to the South Florida Pride Collective Virtual Festival Miami Beach Pride is able to give back to our community with a day of food and toiletry distribution to all of those affected by COVID-19. Distribution will take place at Miami Beach Senior High School, at the corners of Washington Ave. and Dade Blvd from 8 to 10am or until the 150 bundles have been distributed. Limit one bag per car/person.

The Key West Business Guild presents their July Luncheon from noon to 1pm at Key West Marriott Beachside Hotel (3841 N. Roosevelt Blvd) with a special presentation by Greg Veliz in “My First Year as City Manager.”  The KWBG is excited to welcome their membership back with their first meeting post Covid-19. They are taking cautionary measures in ensuring we all remain safe in re-adjusting to the “new normal.” Changes include: their “normal” buffet style has been replaced with plate service, social distancing table placement will be implemented, and masks will be required until you are seated. Pride Center Turns 27

Please join The Pride Center THIS Thursday evening at 7pm online for a Virtual Celebration of 27 wonderful years spent serving the LGBTQ+ community and their friends and neighbors here in South Florida! Live, Work, Pose-A-Thon! 

As a part of Pride month, Disney Television Studios and FX today announced the launch of “Pose-A-Thon,” a commercial free one-hour virtual event, showcasing the cast and producers of “Pose” to raise awareness for three notable organizations that work to support LGBTQ+ education, social change for sexual and gender minority people of color, and transgender equality through legal services and policy efforts.  The special emceed by Emmy, Grammy, and Tony-award winning actor and activist Billy Porter along with co-star Mj Rodriguez will air Friday, June 26 at 10pm on FX and Freeform.  Making television history, “Pose” features the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles and also features the largest recurring cast of LGBTQ+ actors ever for a scripted series.  New episodes from the third season of “Pose” coming soon on FX. George Lopez’s First Netflix Comedy Special, We’ll Do It For Half

Rufus Wainwright announces Unfollow the Rules: The Paramour Session: a concert

Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright announces Unfollow the Rules: The Paramour Session, a concert that will be livestreamed on Saturday, June 27 at 8pm. The livestream will premiere at the All Arts Facebook page, and will be available as VOD for 90 days. The livestream will also be accessible via Rufus Wainwright’s Official Facebook. Rufus will perform acoustically, with a socially distanced string section, piano and guitar to accompany him, in the ballroom of LA’s Paramour Mansion, former home of silent film star Antonio Moreno. The concert will feature Rufus’ upcoming album Unfollow the Rules in its entirety plus some additional songs from Wainwright’s existing repertoire and some new compositions, one of them written during and reflecting on the lockdown period reflecting. Third Annual Stonewall Day Goes Virtual

Pride Live, a social advocacy and community engagement organization for the LGBTQ+ community, announced its third annual Stonewall Day, a global campaign to elevate awareness and support for the Stonewall legacy and the continuing fight for full LGBTQ+ equality. On Friday, June 26th, in partnership with WarnerMedia, Nasdaq, and Pride Media, Stonewall Day will present a virtual fundraising event to raise critical funds for four LGBTQ+ organizations severely affected by COVID-19 and the recent events highlighting the need for fair and equal treatment under the law for all. The livestream event will run from 12:45pm to 3pm on Logo’s YouTube and Facebook pages. Stonewall Day will include a special message to the LGBTQ+ community from President Barack Obama.
