The Adrienne Arsht Center is pleased to announce a new lineup of in-person performances continuing with Yoli Mayor, Live on the Plaza at 7:30pm Miami’s own powerhouse vocalist Yoli Mayor is a soulful singer-songwriter reminiscent of artists like Amy Winehouse and Etta James widely known for making it to the semifinals of “America’s Got Talent” in 2017. Mayor shares her passion for music, honesty and heart to make people feel something. As a homegrown Cuban-American artist, Mayor continues to perform globally and will be self-releasing her first EP soon. For tickets, which are only $15 and more information, go to Arshtcenter.org.
Falling premieres today in theaters, on digital and on demand. Falling follows John (Viggo Mortensen) who lives with his partner, Eric (Terry Chen), and their daughter, Mónica (Gabby Velis), in California, far from the traditional rural life he left behind years ago, while his conservative father, Willis (Lance Henriksen), lives alone on the isolated farm where John grew up. In the early stages of dementia, Willis is brought to John’s California home to help him relocate. Unfortunately, their best intentions ultimately run up against Willis’s adamant refusal to change his way of life in the slightest.

In an effort to change the negative perceptions of African American Men in the media, 5J Entertainment in collaboration with a prominent assembly of Black leaders and professionals is pleased to announce the pioneering documentary “What About Me” which will air in syndication today through February 28. The men featured in the film include actor Marcus Scribner of ABC’s “Black-ish;” actor Timon Kyle Durrett of OWN’s “Queen Sugar;” actor Roshon Fegan of OWN’s “Greenleaf;” attorney Todd Belcore of Social Change; and Civil Rights Attorney J. Wyndal Gordon, The Warrior Lawyer. “What About Me is a riveting look into the experience of African American men and their history in America,” said D. John Jackson of 5J Entertainment. “Black men and boys have endured extreme racism and prejudice in every aspect of their lives from, economics, jobs, politics and even social existence to this very day. Yet, we are still succeeding. Artserve Seeking Works that Promote Environmental Awareness
ArtServe is seeking ecologically thematic works and performances that promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices; and/or explore threats to local and global environments, while highlighting and drawing a sense of urgency to the human impact in South Florida’s fragile ecosystem. Through this exhibition and educational programming, they are aiming to celebrate climate solutions and ecological sustainability initiatives; and show how humanity must be anchored and connected to the natural environment socially, philosophically, economically, and spiritually.
