We’re Back! For the second year in a row, we at Hotspots! Happening Out will be dancing into Juneteenth with a Flash Mob group dance during Stonewall Pride 2022.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane.  We started the fun group dance back in 2021 in observance of Juneteenth, the American Holiday that commemorates the day slaves were emancipated in Texas while also celebrating African American culture.

Knowing that Stonewall Pride 2021 fell on the same day as Juneteenth, June 19th, it was a no brainer for us at Hotspots! Happening Out, the producers of Stonewall Pride, to do something big in honor of the holiday, especially with our President Joe Biden officially declaring the annual celebration a federal holiday after it’s been an honored tradition nationally and reaching across the globe since its conception in 1865.

Stonewall Pride 2022 falls on the 18th this year but that’s not stopping us from keeping our new cherished tradition alive, along with our Black Excellence stage, we are excited to welcome back our Stonewall Pride Juneteenth Flash Mob with a new music mix that incorporates music that is produced, sung and/or performed by people of color, which was arranged by South Florida DJ and a black and proud member of our community, DJ Joey Brown.

To add to the mix, we brought on the amazingly talented Dance Instructor and The Royal Peacock Dance Studio in Oakland Park owner Adam Anthony who edited the mix and choreograph great moves for the dance. Not to mention, we also added some great new giveaways.

Join our zoom practice, leading up to the flash mob and earn your chance to win 2 VIP Stonewall Pride tickets. And on the day of, the two largest group of friends will receive 50 and 25 percent off their choice of a vendor booth or parade entry for Stonewall Pride 2023.

It’ll be fun for all! Join in the Flash Mob dance performance at 5:45pm, Saturday, June 18th. Go to our website at StonewallPride.LGBT/Juneteenth to learn all about the details.

Keep in mind, there’s no perfect way to do the dance, from beginners to professionals, Adam made the moves to be fun for us all to enjoy the groove.
