According to Media Matters, at least 17 Planet Fitness gym locations nationwide have received bomb threats following an anti-transgender campaign by right-wing media outlets. These outlets also include Libs of TikTok by Chaya Raichik. Last month, Raichik began to criticize Planet Fitness for permitting trans girls and women in women’s locker rooms, alleging it compromises women’s safety. Libs of Tiktok tried to generate outrage by accusing Planet Fitness of various baseless offenses like ‘discriminating against White people,’ and ‘grooming kids.’ Following Libs of Tiktok ‘s campaign, bomb threats have targeted Planet Fitness sites in Fairbanks, Alaska; four locations in Providence, Rhode Island; four around Jackson, Mississippi; several in Connecticut; and six locations in Wayne County, Michigan.
