A new teaser released today for Jurassic World Rebirth has caused a stir among fans, especially the LGBTQ community. The reason is a brief yet heart-stopping shot of Jonathan Bailey in geek glasses. The new movie will be the seventh installment of the Jurassic Park and Jurassic World franchise. The teaser opens with a tense scene featuring Scarlett Johansson as covert operations expert Zora Bennet, armed and ready. But it’s the quick glimpse of Bailey as paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis that stole the spotlight. Dressed in a plaid shirt, a grimy beige vest, and a backpack slung over his shoulder, Bailey’s look has had the internet buzzing. Gay fans on gay Twitter said “the glasses, oh, the glasses” and comments like “what makes a gay geek so sexy. Whatever it is, I’m buying it.” Set for release on July 2, 2025, Jurassic World Rebirth picks up five years after Dominion (2022), as the team embarks on a mission to save humanity using dinosaur DNA.
