As first reported by ABC and John Hayden, A well-known Florida drag performer, Shannon Atkins—also known as “Big Momma”—was arrested for allegedly making violent threats against President Trump. Atkins, a 46-year-old bakery owner in Palm Beach County, was taken into custody during a traffic stop. Police say he was found with three baggies of cocaine and now faces felony charges for written threats and drug possession. Atkins is known for hosting drag brunches in South Florida. He is also reportedly a close friend of Casey Anthony, the infamous “tot mom” acquitted of her daughter’s murder. Authorities launched an investigation after a tip about Atkins’ alleged social media posts on January 19, including one that was shared before Trump’s inauguration, saying, “America needs one good bullet to be saved.” Atkins allegedly admitted to the posts but insisted he was “just joking.” He is currently under home detention with restrictions, including no social media and no contact with the First Family. His $15,000 bond release comes as federal charges remain a possibility.
