Queer News Tonight did not report on the Super Bowl this week as we couldn’t find a gay story to the Super Bowl. That changed when we learned about The 2025 Big Gay Super Bowl Party lit up the Hollywood Hills, blending football with fabulousness. Hosted by Brian Pendleton, the annual watch party drew L.A.’s LGBTQ elite to raise funds for the Out Athlete Fund, Pride House, and UFLAC’s Wildfire Firefighter Support Campaign.
Though Super Bowl 59 wasn’t the queerest event this year, a pre-show by Lady Gaga and a halftime show by Kendrick Lamar with SZA and Serena Williams added a touch of pride. Pendleton shared his gratitude on Instagram, saying, “Huge thanks for all the love and good vibes at the 2025 Big Gay Super Bowl Party. I am grateful for this incredible community and the impact we’re making together!”
The star-studded fundraiser proved that the queer community knows how to celebrate while giving back.
