In Dallas, the Oak Lawn United Methodist Church has transformed its front steps into a rainbow — a bold act of what Pastor Rev. Rachel Griffin-Allison calls sacred resistance. The project began on October 21 and ended on November 1, with a consecration ceremony held on November 2. The Reverend said, “This is more than paint on steps…It’s been kind of a love letter to our community.” Joined by her wife, filmmaker Cheryl Griffin-Allison, the pastor says the colors are signs of hope that people need when some powers are trying to erase the community.
