A Russian woman has been sentenced to months of forced labor after admitting she wrote gay fan-fiction about K-pop group Stray Kids. A mother discovered the stories on her daughter’s device, which ultimately led to the case being launched in 2025. Prosecutors had reportedly sought a four-year prison sentence. According to reports, 36-year-old photographer and stylist Alexandra Kuzyk (KOO-zik) is convicted of “illegal production and distribution of pornographic materials.”

Kuzyk told the court the writing was a longtime hobby. She also said there were no printed versions of the stories and that she was not publishing or selling them during the investigation. The fan fiction was reportedly found on a young girl’s Telegram channel. Under the sentence, Kuzyk will serve 18 months of forced labor, with 10% of her earnings withheld by the state. The case comes amid Russia’s ongoing crackdown under its strict anti-LGBT “propaganda” laws.
