On Friday, May 22, Harmony Waves presented “Seth’s Big Fat Broadway Show” starring Seth Rudetsky.  For all of us who are Broadway lovers, this was an amazing treat.

On Thursday, May 28, History Fort Lauderdale presented the fifth annual Take PRIDE!,” a benefit cocktail reception and exhibition honoring LGBTQ+ community advocates. The special event, hosted by previous “Take PRIDE!” honoree FayWhat?!, kicked off Wilton Manors Stonewall PRIDE Parade & Street Festival activities and paid tribute to some of South Florida’s most impactful LGBTQ+ leaders. Attendees also received a sneak preview of the exhibition “Coming Out of the Shadows” that will run through June 30 at Galleria Fort Lauderdale. This year’s “Take PRIDE!” honorees were: Chris Caputo, Dennis Dean, Robert Griffin and Durell Watkins, Ronnie Larsen, Rafaelé Narváez, Jason Parsley, Chief William C. Schultz,  Nicole Stodard, and Tatiana Williams. Once again this was an amazing event!

On Friday, May 29, Unity Coalition and +VOCES Chamber of Diversity of PERU presented “Diversity, Tourism, Business & Culture Connections: Lima-Miami” at the Miami Hispanic Cultural Arts Center. This was a night of Peruvian Art & Music, drinks, and Hors d’oeuvres, and a unique opportunity for local business, and not for profit and other community leaders interested in networking with other businesses and community leaders form Lima to establish alliances, support diversity and programming between South Florida and Peru.

On Saturday, May 30, The Stonewall National Museum, Archives & Library (SNMAL) kicked off Pride Month with a dual celebration: the opening of The Many Faces of Pride, a vibrant new exhibition drawn from Stonewall’s vast collections, and the inaugural Stonewall Honors dinner, recognizing ten LGBTQ+ leaders and organizations whose work continues to shape the movement. The 2026 Stonewall Honors Honorees were:  Mark Berryhill, Denise Spivak, Jaymes Black, Rand Hoch, Kierra Johnson, Ben Garcia, Julia Seaver, Robert Griffin & Durrell Watkins,  Alan Beck, and Marc Martorana & Commissioner Don D’Arminio.

On Sunday, May 31, the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and casino Hollywood presented the second annual pride drag brunch to benefit the Pride Center at Equality Park. This high-energy event featured show-stopping performances by Daisy Deadpetals, Erika Norell, TP Lords, FKA Twink, Quinn Zrenity, and Christopher Peterson. There was also a lavish chef-curated brunch with premium open bar, and the Pride Center Icon Awards ceremony, where the honorees were: Kevin Jennings, Katie Phang and Chief William C. Schultz. Another great event at Hardrock!
