Drag performer and climate activist Pattie Gonia has rejected Patagonia’s settlement terms in an ongoing trademark dispute with the outdoor clothing company. Patagonia said the dispute could be resolved if Pattie Gonia withdrew trademark applications, stopped using Patagonia logos, and stopped selling or promoting products under the Pattie Gonia name.
Pattie Gonia responded on social media, saying she agreed to the first two demands but rejected the third. She wrote, “Patagonia is not just talking about my upcycled T-shirt merch in that bullet point…If I can’t do partnerships as Pattie Gonia, it breaks the whole ecosystem of advocacy and community engagement.”
