The Trevor Project is celebrating a major milestone after being selected as a marquee beneficiary of the first-ever Elton John Impact Awards. Broadcast as an iHeartRadio audio special and hosted by icons Billy Porter and Elvis Duran, the event honored a stellar lineup of queer cultural trailblazers, including Chappell Roan, Laverne Cox, and Jonathan Bailey. But the night was about more than just star power.
Thanks to a generous matching partnership with Brandi Carlile’s Looking Out Foundation, the event generated critical grant funding directly for The Trevor Project’s life-saving suicide prevention and youth crisis services. The special also featured a stunning tribute performance of ‘Your Song’ by Dove Cameron. Organizers say this massive wave of visibility and financial support couldn’t come at a more vital time as the organization works around the clock to protect vulnerable youth.
