Kentucky Republican Representative Thomas Massie confronted a Fox News Digital reporter with a false accusation after being questioned about allegations made by a former girlfriend outside the U.S. Capitol. Reporter Nicholas Ballasy asked Massie about claims from Cynthia West, who alleged she had a relationship with the congressman after his wife’s death and that he pressured her to sign a nondisclosure agreement related to a wrongful termination dispute.
West has also accused Massie of having a sexual relationship with Colorado Representative Lauren Boebert. Massie responded, “It’s all false.” When Ballasy continued asking why West was making the allegations, Massie began recording Ballasy on his phone and asked, “I heard that you like gay porn. Is that true?” Ballasy said that he just wanted to give you a chance to respond to West’s allegations, later adding, “Of course I don’t like it.”
After the exchange, Ballasy posted on Twitter, writing, “Congressman Massie made up that question on the fly — it’s based on nothing and it’s pretty sick that was the first thing on his mind. I was asking him about allegations about him made by an ex on the record and giving him a chance to respond. I deny the allegations he made up about me.” Massie recently lost his Republican primary after President Donald Trump endorsed his opponent.
