Plays Of Wilton today announced that tonight will be the official opening night of the U.S. premiere of Forbidden!, a groundbreaking drama that was lost to time and widely regarded by many scholars as the world’s first coming-out play. Written by Dutch novelist and playwright Jo M. van IJssel de Schepper-Becker and originally presented in Rotterdam in 1922 as Wat niet mag! (Mustn’t Do It!) public reaction to the play was immediate and hostile, leading to the show being cancelled after just two performances. But a century later, after being translated by theater historian Laurence Senelick, the play is being given new life as director Ronnie Larsen presents a limited engagement through Tuesday September 29 at The Foundry, 2306 N. Dixie Highway. The cast of Forbidden! features Plays of Wilton alumni Seth Trucks (Fall Well), Sara Grant (Fall Well), Nicole Hulett (The Sound of Music), Alex Martinez (Torch Song) and Chad Raven (The Actors). Toyota of Hollywood and CBS Miami (WFOR-TV) are teaming up to once again host an open casting call for The Price Is Right. Hosted by Drew Carey, The Price Is Right is television’s longest-running game show where audience members try to win cash and prizes. The contestant search will take place inside the Toyota of Hollywood showroom from 10am to 1pm. Two semifinalists will be selected from the South Florida casting call and will receive a trip to Los Angeles for an additional interview. One of the two semifinalists may then be selected to compete as a contestant on an episode of The Price Is Right. Scandals Saloon in association with Jessica Channing present a Benefit for Oscar A Novva to send him back to Mr. Florida M.E. 2026. Oscar was 1st runner up last year and they are hoping to raise enough money for him to win this year.
