On Saturday, September 20, at 7 PM, Wilton Manors will come alive with theater as POW in the Park presents its third free production, The Boys in the Band, at Richardson Park. Produced by Ronnie Larsen and supported by the City of Wilton Manors along with The Warten Foundation, the event will be staged indoors at the park.
Audiences will watch Mart Crowley’s groundbreaking play unfold, telling the story of Michael, a New Yorker who invites his gay friends to a birthday party for Harold. What begins as laughter and celebration will turn into drama as sharp banter and a daring party game reveal hidden truths and long-buried secrets. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, including a $100,000 launch gift from The Warten Foundation and continued community support, this production will be free and open to all, offering residents and visitors a night of powerful, engaging theater.
