On Monday, April 6, Equality Florida and The Our Fund Foundation hosted a celebratory reception at the Graybox Theater to recognize and thank Michael Rajner who fought to protect access to lifesaving medications for 16,000 Floridians living with HIV.
On Wednesday April 8, Miami Beach Pride presented the annual Mr. and Miss Miami Beach Pride at Palace Bar. With many qualified Contestants, in the end the new court is Ground Xero and Valentina Valentino.
On Saturday, April 11, Scandals Saloon presented the annual Mizz Scandals 2026 Pageant which was hosted by the Queen of Scandals, Jessica Channing, and honored Mizz Scandals 2025 Madison Mansfield along with formers Verandah Lanai, Kahtya Tension, and Franchesque Richards. There were 4 qualified contestants, but in the end the new Mizz Scandals is Phoenix Endora.
On Sunday, April 12 was the final and biggest day of the 10-day festival of Miami Beach Pride. The day included the parade and the festival that went to 11pm with tons of performances including headliner David Archuletta. Congrats to Bruce and the entire Miami Beach Pride team on another hugely successful year!
Also, on Sunday in Fort Lauderdale Jimmy Cohen celebrated his birthday at Jimmy Cohen’s Boutique Spa Inside the Cabanas Guest House, where he hosted the Pink Nail Society’s annual Luau. This was a fundraising event to help raise money for prostate cancer awareness and featured two live singers; Natasha Ricketts and Antonio Edwards, 3 Drag shows hosted by Nicollette with performances by Nicole T. Phillips and Franchesca Richards, and free food with a cash bar. I wish my friend Jimmy a very Happy Birthday!
On Wednesday, April 15, 321 Slammer celebrated their 19th Anniversary Party with a member sponsored open bar and refreshments. Congrats to Stephen, Jason and the entire 321 team!!
On Friday, April 17 ArtServe celebrated the power of creativity and community at its fourth annual Impact Awards Gala, presented by Seacoast Bank, honoring four individuals whose leadership, artistry and dedication have helped shape South Florida’s vibrant arts and cultural landscape. The event took place at ArtServe and featured an evening of celebration, gourmet dining and cocktails, live entertainment and a silent auction.
Also on Friday was the annual taste of Oakland Park which once again sold out. Congrats to the city of Oakland Park on another successful year!
On Sunday, April 19, The Parker presented Alyssa Edwards: Thanks for Everything Tour 2026. Renowned as one of the most famous drag performers in herstory, Alyssa Edwards is an American entertainer, choreographer, and globally recognized television personality and her live show did not disappoint!
