The White House Correspondents’ Association has rescheduled its annual dinner for July 24 after the April event was interrupted by gunfire at the Washington Hilton. Authorities informed 31-year-old Cole Allen has been charged with the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump, who was inside the ballroom during the incident. One Secret Service officer was wounded. Police said officers stopped Allen before he could enter the ballroom, where nearly 2,500 journalists, politicians, and guests were gathered awaiting Trump’s speech. No additional details about the venue or ticketing have been announced.
