Residents of Boise, Idaho, are responding to the state’s ban on Pride flags on government property by displaying them across their neighborhoods. A grassroots group, Pride North End, has distributed more than 250 Pride flags and 900 yard signs to residents willing to show their support. A GoFundMe campaign that originally sought $2K has raised more than $10K, with any remaining funds set to benefit LGBTQ+ nonprofits.

Boise had displayed Pride flags during Pride Month for years, but Idaho’s 2025 law now limits government property to official government flags. After the city unsuccessfully tried to designate the Pride flag as an official city flag, state lawmakers amended the law, leaving Boise unable to continue the tradition.
