Last Wednesday the Mack guys hosted yet another successful Miami mixer at Sagafredo Zanetti's in Brickell. Professionals mingled in an elegant setting while sipping on 5 star cocktails and noshing on scrumptious food - a perfect way to end any work day. Later that night Tony and Yiovanni Rodriguez produced their annual Miss Divine Pageant. The event this year was held at the beautiful Mekka nightclub in downtown Miami. The pageant featured all the formers and 5 very qualified contestants and in the end the winner was Noel Leon. She was extremely consistent in all her categories and definitely deserved to win this pageant! Congratulations to Tony and Yio for another fair and fabulous pageant! On Friday, the Ramrod held their monthly Muscle Bear Man Dance and this month they had special guest DJ Lydia Prim. A special congrats to Ramrod for being voted ...

On August 3rd the monthly Mack Lunch was held at the beautiful China Grille on the 17th Street Causeway overlooking the intercoastal. Congrats to Danny and DJ for once again having a sold out business luncheon. A few special mentions are to: 1) Casey, who I went to graduate school with, for leaving his job and going for his dream to become a pilot, 2) to Tom Runyon’s mother, who recently moved down to South Florida to be near her successful son and 3) to the beautiful Lauralina just because I always love seeing her gorgeous smile! On Wednesday the guys at Atomic/Boom had a birthday party for GM Chris Burdekin with free chicken wings, pizza, cake and of course Russell behind the bar serving it up as only he can. Happy birthday to my friend Chris and I wish him many more to come! Wednesday late night I went by Voodoo Lounge for their new promotion ...

On Monday, July 19th Bill's presented their 4th annual Bartenders, Boxers and Briefs Underwear Auction benefitting Tuesday's Angels. The event featured some of the sexiest bartenders from around town selling their underwear on stage for such a good cause. A special shout out to Tyrone of Rosie's who I found to be the sexiest of all. Congratulations go out to Don Clark (organizer), Pooch, Jackson, Mark and the entire staff of Bills for such a successful event that raised over $15,000. Also that night, Monkey Business presented the annual Female Impersonator of the Year pageant and the winner was Kennedy Davenport with Noel Leon taking 1st runner up.

Ok, I admit it - sometimes I get exhausted and need to rest, so this past week I only attended activities within the walls of Wilton Manors. Thursday night George Castrataro in association with Tom Runyan threw a benefit to raise money to help get Ken Keechl re-elected as Broward Mayor. Seen there were Norm Kent, Mark Budwig, Justin Flippin and about 50 to 75 of Ken's supporters. I would say this was a very successful event.

Friday night was happening all over Fort Lauderdale. It started with “Broward Bares It,” a benefit for Broward House at Passion Nightclub at the Seminole Hardrock Hotel and Casino. This was a takeoff of the very successful and long running “Broadway Bares, Equity Fights AIDS” in New York City. Congrats to Nikki Adams, Terry DeCarlo and the entire staff of Broward House for organizing this successful event. The Bears took over Wilton Manors again with both Growl at Bill’s and Bear Nation at Manor packing them in. Congratulations to my friend and former Hotspots cover model, Jay, for winning the Sexy Bear Contest at Bill’s and the $500 prize. Saturday night started with the grand opening of Book Nook right on Wilton Drive. Later on Fort Lauderdale had 2 porn stars in town with Landon Mykels at Johnny’s and the sexy ...

The last 2 months have been so crazy for me, traveling across the state many times for important events, that this past week I decided I was going to give my body a break and stay local. Last Tuesday Johnny’s presented a big birthday bash for general manager AJ Cross. As he does every year, AJ made his birthday a benefit. This year the beneficiary was Sunserve, a social service agency providing many types of services to GLBT families in Broward County. The event was hosted by Electra with special performances by recording artist John Minnis, Misty Eyez, Alandra Matthews, TP Lords, Richard Cortez, Mia Sangria, Gemini Stone and many more. Wednesday was the monthly GLCC/Pride Center at Equality Park’s Founders’ Circle reception. This month it was at the beautiful Red Door Spa at the Galleria Mall. They were giving away complimentary manicures and chair massages.

In my travels out and about in the state of Florida I felt that I may be a little neglectful of Miami, so this past week I tried to spend a lot of time there. Wednesday night I met our new Miami Sales Representative, Jessica, at Palace for a late night dinner. Afterwards we met up with Josue Santiago (Editor of Latino Boys Magazine) and went to Twist for their 17th anniversary and, as is the case in all of their entire anniversaries, the bar was packed with well wishers. Friday I went down to Vlada for their monthly Bear Party and ran into my friend George B., who I used to work with and haven't seen in years.

This past Sunday was the annual Stonewall Street Festival and Parade down Wilton Drive. Although Mother Nature was extremely unkind, beating us with unbearable heat, the crowds still came out to party and spend the entire day walking up and down the drive and supporting all the local business. I spoke to quite a few of the business owners and the consensus was that they were all EXTREMELY happy! Congratulations go out to all the organizers of the Pride of Greater Fort Lauderdale for putting on another successful event. In this situation, I will let the pics talk…so enjoy and stay tuned for many more pics in next week’s edition!
