We Can’t Do It Without You!
HOTspots is a nonprofit organization with every dollar earned going toward producing our social and cultural events, including Stonewall Pride, PrideFête, Art Walk Wilton Manors, HOTspots Happening Out Art Gallery With Dennis Dean and many more.
It is with volunteers that we’re able to provide safe spaces and quality events for our community. Check out the list below of volunteer opportunities we have to offer, as well as our giveback program to show our appreciation for the support our volunteers provide to us and the community.
Art Walk Wilton Manors
Vendors exhibit their art and crafts outdoors throughout The Drive.
- Seasonal: October – May
- Location: Throughout Wilton Drive
- Every 3rd Saturday of the month
- Event Hours: 6pm-9pm
- Volunteer Hours: 4pm-10pm
- Volunteer Duties:
- HOTspots sound system setup (must be able to lift up to 40lbs)
- Watch over the sound system and HOTspots equipment during the event.
- Run extension cords for canopy electricity.
- Place A-frames (sandwich boards).
HOTspots Happening Out Art Gallery with Dennis Dean
Opening Reception Helper
Debut of all new artwork in the gallery for the month-long exhibit. (Open to the public)
- Monthly: Every 1st Saturday of the Month.
- Location: 2401 N. Dixie Hwy. Wilton Manors, FL 33305
- Event Hours: 6pm-9pm
- Volunteer Hours: 4:30pm-10pm
- Volunteer Duties: (must be okay with working outdoors)
Gallery Outdoor Patio Setup (contingent on weather. Must be able to lift up to 40lbs)
- Setting up canopies
- Moving tables, chairs, and sofas from indoor to outdoors.
- Setting up string lighting
Gallery Outdoor Patio Breakdown (contingent on weather. Must be able to lift up to 40lbs)
- Taking down canopies
- Bringing tables, chairs, and sofas back inside from outside.
- Taking down string lighting
*Volunteers get to enjoy the exhibit and mingle with guests during Event Hours (6pm-9pm). Lite bits and Open Bar provided during the event.
Artists Showcase Helper
Showcase of different forms of artistic expression (e.g., a singer, an author to do book signings, a poet, a musician, etc.) as the 2nd and final public showing of the gallery’s monthly exhibit.
- Monthly: Every 3rd Sunday of the Month. (4th Sunday on rare occasions)
- Location: 2401 N. Dixie Hwy. Wilton Manors, FL 33305
- Event Hours: 5pm-8pm
- Volunteer Hours: 3:30pm-9pm
- Volunteer Duties: (must be okay with working outdoors)

Gallery Bartender
*Bartender gets to keep bar tips

Bartender Duties: (must be okay with working outdoors)
- Outdoor Bar Setup (contingent on weather. Must be able to lift up to 40lbs)
- Setup rolling bar
- Stock bar with drinks and ice
- Prepare and Serve drinks to gallery guests throughout the event.
- Gallery Outdoor Bar Breakdown (contingent on weather. Must be able to lift up to 40lbs)
- Break down the bar and restock drinks.
Gallery Attendant
Opening Reception: Every 1st Saturday of the Month.
- Event Hours: 6pm-9pm
- Volunteer Hours: 5:30pm-9:30pm
Artists Showcase: Every 3rd Sunday of the Month. (4th Sunday on rare occasions)
- Event Hours: 5pm-8pm
- Volunteer Hours: 4:30pm-8:30pm
- Location: 2401 N. Dixie Hwy. Wilton Manors, FL 33305
Volunteer Duties:
Prep Work: Help the Gallery Lead with exhibit prep including but not limited to attaching title cards to the walls, numbering title cards, light cleaning (sweeping, wiping down surfaces, replenishing paper towels), cutting card stock, etc.
During Event (mingle with guests while assisting gallery lead): Assist Gallery Lead with odds and ends throughout the event such as corralling artists in preparation of the artists presentation, encouraging attendees to fill out the People’s Choice Awards cards, counting the People’s Choice Awards cards to determine the winning art piece, helping to clean up any spills and empty cups, notifying the Gallery Lead of anything suspicious or unsettling, etc.
Office Helper
Be part of the engaging atmosphere of a multi-media nonprofit as we plan our monthly and annual events, produce our bi-weekly magazine, create social media content, manage our web platform and so much more.

- Time: 10am – 6pm
- Location: 2435 N. Dixie Hwy. Wilton Manors, FL 33305
Clerical Work (Must know how to use a computer, work Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Drive)
· Data Entry
· Subscriber Engagement (calling, emailing, etc.)
· Event Preparation (printing, organizing, scheduling, etc.)
Organizer (Must be able to lift up to 40lbs)
· Reorganizing Storage Unit
· Transporting items from one place in the office to another
· Loading and Unloading Van, Trailor, and/or Sprinter
Volunteer Lead
Become a lead volunteer who helps out weekly supervising the volunteer network.
Duties:
- Act as the liaison between the volunteers and HOTspots staff.
- Keep track of and organize the weekly volunteer schedule.
- Contact Volunteers to help fill vacant volunteer shifts.
- Help implement volunteer strategies and volunteer opportunities.
- Help plan and coordinate volunteer appreciation events.
