AJA, Tampa’s Newest Wednesday Night Hotspot!
The destination: Channelside to go and see the newest venue on Wednesday nights, AJA Lounge. A short walk away from the parking garage, AJA Lounge is located on the first floor in the westernmost round condo at Towers at Channelside. The new gay night promoter, bar manager from former Flirt Mike Hammond, and AJA Lounge owner, Robert Solomon, put on quite the show in one of the most impressive designed bars in Tampa. The very clean lines and separate bars created a fun VIP experience. Not open yet for a year, this was a packed house on a usually slow Wednesday night. The party starts every Wednesday night at 9:00 pm with 1 hour complimentary cocktails. Come out of your houses, let loose and experience Wednesday nights!

Hamburger Mary’s Coming to Ybor City
The news traveled fast through our community that Hamburger Mary’s Bar & Grille is moving into Centro Ybor. The new restaurant will be located on the second floor of Centro Ybor in the former Dish Restaurant location. This location has a 7th Ave. balcony with a full service bar, too! The owners have told us to expect all the fun of Mary’s with a touch of GaYBOR added, too! Tea Cup was caught pulling on the door already! Oh Mary, please!
The Ybor Social – Eagle Thursdays
Thursday nights have become quite the hoot of a great time at the Ybor Social! The mix of crowds, ages and style make for a very interesting party! The evening kicks off at 7 pm with the Judy B. Goode & Paul Thomas Show. At 9 pm starts college night with drink specials and the Ybor Shot Girl Miss Arica Love. While downstairs in the Ybor Eagle, Miss Joey Brooks is giving class instructions to students! A very happy birthday wishes to Richard (Guard Fred)!
Only in Ybor City
In Ybor City everybody lives as a one big, harmonious family. There is a street person by the name of David who comes and goes; we don’t know if he is homeless or not. David does remember all our faces and dogs, too. He is very likable and never aggressive. We were surprised to find that David has a MySpace page! When we asked him about the page, David said, “Some kids made me famous! I am known around the world!” What a very interesting place Ybor City is.
T-Dance GaYBOR Style
The Sunday T-Dances in Ybor have been way over the top. With parties all over, drink specials and crazy meals! This past Sunday Alexis De La Mer was in town performing at Ybor Resort & Spa and we all knew it was going to be wild! Alexis took the phrase “Dive into the pool” literally! Coming Labor Day weekend will be the GaYBOR Pool Party at the Howard Johnson Downtown Riverfront Plaza, featuring Miss Alexis! Don’t miss it!
