One of the shining crown jewels in our community celebrated their 2 year anniversary! Congratulations to Steam Friday and thank you for the many world class parties! Steam Fridays at the Honey Pot has elevated the bar to a new higher level that the Tampa Bay GLBT community has never seen before by providing a stage for world class acts that has become a legend in the world circuit dance club scene! And all the while being active community supporters and proud founding members of GaYbor. On this 2 year anniversary there was DJ Johnny Vicious (personal DJ remixer to Madonna) in the DJ booth where he raised the energy to a feverish pace.
Streetcar Charlie’s present Gospel Brunch every other Sunday and it has become a huge success. So what is to fill in the other weeks? This week was the first Country Fried Queens Brunch. At this very Southern and tasty brunch you will be entertained by drag queens performing country music.

And the winners are…. Miss Amy Demilo, the new Miss Gay Florida US of A and Danielle Hunter, the new Miss Gay Florida US of A Classic. Both pageants were held at the Honey Pot in GaYbor. The Florida State Fair (Feb 44th through the 14th) will feature drag queen performances this year. Hotspots Magazine (OK, sometimes we have to toot our own horn) has a new GaYbor section.

The Parliament House presents the hit play “Waiting for Maupin” on Saturday, February 6th at 8 pm. In this parody of the hilarious Christopher Guest film “Waiting for Guffman,” six enthusiastic actors present a show within a show entitled “Orlando, Orlando” – a musical tribute to Orlando on the occasion of the city’s quad centennial anniversary while awaiting the arrival of a certain critic. The “Orlando, Ourlando” production numbers put funny twists on the four 2004 hurricanes, the metallic taste of canned orange juice and a Disney number set to the tune of the old Carousel of Progress theme, “The Best Time of Your Life.” The show will also play on February 13th, 20th and 27th.
G.Bar presents the Gasparilla Night Parade, where they invite you to watch the parade from their windows. Doors open at 6 pm and parade starts at 7 pm.
On Saturday, February 6th Infiniti Productions present the 2nd annual Heroes vs. Villians at Pulse Nightclub with a $250 cash prize for the best costume. Showtime is at 12:30 am and stars DJ Scott Robert, Roxxxy Andrews, Tyra Sanchez, Blade Matthews, Kaija Adonis and Axel Infiniti, Kitana Infiniti and Avalon Infiniti.
Hamburger Mary’s in GaYbor is starting 2 new nights. Starting Monday, February 8th, it’s Musical Mondays with Broadway all night. Then, starting Wednesday, February 10th they are starting bingo with a special guest host, the fabulous Belle Aire from Hollywood. Each week they will raise some money for local charities and nonprofit organizations.
