Jake Gyllenhaal  – December 19, 1980

Jake Gyllenhaal will forever be known to me as Jack Twist and all it takes to make me tear up is one or two notes from the soundtrack of the most famous gay movie of all time: Brokeback Mountain. Gyllenhaal’s role in Brokeback Mountain solidified him as a gay icon, a feat that was, without a doubt, helped by his charm and amazing good looks. Since his Oscar Nominated role opposite Heath Ledger, he has gone on to become Hollywood Royalty, which is rather ironic because he is actually a member of the Sweedish Nobility, and is recognized there as a nobleman.

Gyllenhaal  grew up in Hollywood, where his parents were both involved in show business, his mother is a producer/screenwriter and his father is a director. His godparents are Jamie Lee Curtis and Paul Newman, talk about famous “A Listers”. Even his sister Maggie has cashed in on the movie biz. She was also nominated for an Oscar for her role in Crazy Heart opposite the legendary Jeff Bridges.

Jake Gyllenhaal will always hold a special place in our hearts, but if you think he is the hottest movie star on the planet, make sure you vote for him in our Who’s Hot Contest.

Hugh Jackman – October 12, 1968

Hugh Jackman is an Australian Actor who gained worldwide fame as Wolverine in the X- Men Series of films, as well as for his Oscar nominated role as Jean Valjean in 2012’s blockbuster musical Les Misérables: Despite the fact that he didn´t win the Oscar this year, he did win the Golden Globe, an honor in its own right. Jackman is not only known for his roles on the big screen, he is also an accomplished theatre actor, having performed in countless shows on Broadway and London´s West End., he won the Tony for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his role in The Boy from Oz. He has hosted the Tony Awards 3 times and the Academy Awards once.

Just like so many other hunks in showbiz, Jackman has been plagued by gay rumors for years, but has been happily married for 16 years to Deborra-Lee Furness. While doing press for Les Mis and the Oscars, he commented that the gay rumors were starting to bug his wife. It´s certainly possible that he is a closet family member, but it´s much more likely that these rumors are still around from when he played the openly gay Broadway Icon Peter Allen in The Boy From Oz, the role he won the Tony for.

“Marriage should be about love and respect, not discrimination. Australia is at its best when we value equality over prejudice and fear. That’s why we support marriage equality for same-sex couples. Marriage equality will help remove discrimination against same-sex couples and their children.

“It will also benefit marriage by allowing it to embrace more loving committed couples who uphold its values. It’s time for Australia to join the other nations that have benefited from this important reform.”
