Let’s talk about the bigger conversation pieces in your home! A majority of our clients are purchasing white leather to give a bright, crisp look. Charcoal leather is also being used as an alternative to the standard brown. Most people are choosing sectionals to give a cleaner look while making their area look larger and to accommodate more seating for their friends and family.
In bedrooms, we still show and sell complete matching bedrooms sets; however, we are also suggesting a growing trend which involves partnering an upholstered accent bed that can be used with lacquer furniture or wood.
In dining rooms we are showing mostly glass and chrome tables, in all shapes and sizes. Contemporary, clean, and pleasing on the eyes! In addition, bars are making a comeback as more and more people are entertaining in their homes. Speaking of entertainment, a lot of bright colors are being used in theater seating, recliners and accent chairs to make any room pop.

Customers are looking to keep their homes transitional, not “transitional” as a defined style but transitional in that they can make over their room decor by doing some small changes without having to redo entire looks in order to keep up with the latest colors and styles.
Neutrals like Taupe, Grey or White are what people are looking for. Foundation pieces, like our Elysee, or Laurette sectionals in White or Grey are a great options that can be used in many room styles, and be utterly transformed with just the addition of accent throw pillows, and a rug.

Modern, especially vintage design, still remains very hip, but the look is softened with the mix of unexpected traditional and antique elements. Nothing looks better than a beautiful antique credenza flanked with a great pair of mid-century lucite lamps and a fabulous original modern abstract above it.
I believe the time of buying the whole room package at some retail stores is done. A great living space is collected over time with pieces of varied styles and periods.

When designers want to create a look that is 
Natural wood items are still a strong contender in the design world. The design newbies include the use of two-toning the wood finishes to give the piece more character and allow them to blend better with transitional furnishings. The bookcases above combine a natural waxed wood with a painted, distressed black accent. SPOTLIGHT ON IKEA
Three Locations in Central and South Florida…and a Fourth on the Way!
IKEA is also well-known for its “democratic design process.” There are five parts that make up this process: form, function, quality, sustainability and a low price. To offer affordable prices to consumers, many IKEA products are made so the consumer assembles the final product, instead of the store doing so in advance. Or as they put it, “instead of thinking outside the box, we simply got rid of the box.”
The company is very proud of the durability of each product — something that people can test for themselves in any IKEA store. For example, cabinet doors in kitchen settings are slam-proof, and drawers can hold many weighty items without significant wear. Labs at the IKEA village in Sweden routinely test out the durability of chairs, sofas, beds and other furniture. IKEA wants you to know that products that are sold there will last a long time, which will make customers very happy.
