Divas Dinner Theatre

A new drag and dinner option is now here in Central Florida. The closing of Bananas Diner on Mills Avenue in Orlando had left a void in the very gay-friendly Mills 50 District. Many of the same people involved with Bananas worked hard to open up Divas Dinner Theatre, which had its grand opening on January 8. They will be serving up great food and unforgettable drag shows, making for a delightful dining experience.

What kinds of shows are going to be featured at Divas? Show director Roxy Brooks told us all about it. “[We will feature] themed show days such as Off-Off Broadway, Gospel Brunch, Las Vegas and Open Mic Night,” she said. “Hungry after the club? Stop in for the Dirty Show and late night bites. Friday nights are special showcases that I have written and cast.”

Danielle Hunter, former Miss Florida F.I. and former Bananas performer, was also excited about all the things they have in store for customers at Divas. “Five years ago we brought you Bananas, and after an extensive remodeling, we are taking the drag dining experience up a notch with more upscale settings, state-of-the-art sound and a menu designed by our celebrity chef Ashley Nickell. Look for some classics returning, like our amazing Funky Monkey Burger and Chicken and Waffles.” Roxy added that customers should also try the humorously-named menu items “Roxy’s Ballz” and “Danielle’s Double Delight.”

Danielle had nothing but nice things to say about the new show director Roxy Brooks. “I went to New York City and I brought [her] back with me,” she told us. “She’s a well-known show host and a creative drag entertainer.” Sounds like we are ready for some top-notch shows! There will be shows on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights, and also Sunday afternoons.

Reservations are required on show nights. Call (407) 480-2200 and leave a message to make your reservation and a Diva will call you back with your confirmation.

Divas Dinner Theatre is located at 924 N. Mills Avenue in Orlando. For more information, visit divasorlando.com. “Like” them on Facebook at facebook.com/divasorlando.
