When did you realize you wanted to be a DJ?
It was in the late 90s, at the legendary Salvation Nightclub on Miami Beach, that I fell in love with music and nightlife. I give my most sincere thanks to DJ Abel for the incredible musical journey that he would take us on every week. Those unforgettable nights definitely inspired me to be a DJ. The whole package — from being greeted at the door by Connie Casserole, to experiencing the mind blowing performances by Power, Kitty, Jojo, Paloma and the rest of the crew on a weekly basis, was an incredible time for nightlife (and for myself). I’d wake up the next morning and run to the record store to buy the records and see if I could find some gems from the night before. I started collecting the records as a hobby and making mix tapes for my friends. But as my collection grew, it was only natural that I should dive into DJing more seriously.
Where are you from? And what brought you to South Florida?
I was born in right here in Miami to Cuban parents.
What was your first residency, and how did that feel?
For many years, I was the go-to DJ for the underground voguing balls in South Florida. Discotekka was my first nightclub residency and I was so excited to welcome the opportunity! By far, it was the most creative team I’ve ever been involved with in all my years in the business. It also helped launch the careers for so many others. Those theme parties would become legendary!
What separates you from other DJs?
I’ve worked in several different capacities, not just as a DJ. I think that’s my biggest distinction. At the moment, I have several nightclub clients I design ads for, manage their websites and handle their social media. There have been times when I’ve even thrown my own parties, and hosted events for others. But, at the end of the day, DJing is my biggest passion.
What are some memorable moments from the DJ booth?
Spinning on the main stage at Miami Beach Gay Pride in 2014 was by far the most memorable gig to date. Gloria Estefan was the Grand Marshall that year, and we had a brief chat right before my set. She was the sweetest and most humble artist I’ve met so far. I had never played for so many people and the energy was incredible. It was estimated that 100K people were in attendance.
Other than DJing, what do you like to do for fun?
Traveling! I absolutely love traveling. I get away on a regular basis and disconnect. It helps to recharge my soul. Spain and Peru are on my radar next.

What does the future hold for Alex Infiniti?
I really want to dive into producing original music. I have several friends and colleagues that keep encouraging me to get into it and I think it’s time! I’m also helping a few nightclubs to launch their own unique mobile app. The future of nightclub advertising is in our hands (literally)!
