Ru Paul’s Drag Race All Stars 5

Episode 7 – Blair St. Clair

Episode 7 of All Stars 5 starts out with Ru explaining to the girls that in this week’s Maxi challenge they will face off in a stand-up comedy smack down. Each of them needs to work up a comedy routine that is jam packed with jokes. Later in the day they will try out their jokes with the hilarious Ross Matthews and a special guest funny lady…..we find out later its the one and only Jane Krakowski. The next night they will perform in front of a live audience at Ru Paul’s Shady Shack. Since Miz Cracker was the top all-star last week she gets to choose the order in which the girls will perform. Ru reminds the girls that this is the challenge that decides which 3 girls will be in the finale of all-stars. Miz Cracker decided that Juju will start, followed by Blair, and then she will take the stage and Shea will end the performances.

On the runway Ru introduces the guest judges Sam Richardson and Jane is back. The Shady Shack opens and Juju starts and does a very good job. Blair was next and although she was funny in rehearsal she chokes. Miz Cracker kills it and is followed by Shea who is very good. The category for the runway is “Ah Freak Out.” The top all-star this week was Miz Cracker who won an 8 night South African Safari and wine country adventure courtesy of South African tourism. She then went up against this lip sync assassin; Kennedy Davenport. In the end Miz Cracker won and pocketed $20,000 ($10 from this week and $10 that rolled over from last week). She then decides to send home Blair St. Clair. We find out that Juju and Shea voted for Blair as well.

It was a pleasure to sit down with the beautiful Blair St. Clair for this exclusive Hotspots Interview:

How has your life changed since you were on Drag Race?

It has changed dramatically. I moved across the country to live with my now boyfriend. I released a few albums, and have been in a major motion picture, which will be released soon. I am also waiting to film another role after Covid 19 passes. I am really grateful for all these opportunities.

How did you meet your boyfriend?

We keep our relationship private, but we met through mutual friends.

What has been some of your favorite cities to visit as a RuPaul Alumni?

My favorite place in the world to visit is the UK, specifically London. I also had a blast in Amsterdam. And of course my hometown of Indianapolis Indiana is my all-time favorite place.

How exciting was it to get called back for All Stars?

It was very exciting. I knew All Stars 4 wasn’t the right time, but I was hoping to do an all stars so I had everything ready except the specific runway looks which they tell you one you are chosen. I was prepared and excited.

How hard was it to keep the secret that you are on all stars?

It was so hard, as people had an idea since I disappeared from all my social media for a few weeks. It’s fun to play with fans without giving them full acknowledgement.

How did you prepare differently for all stars than you did the first time you were on the show?

Having done drag race before I knew exactly how to prepare for the competition. Last time I used whatever I could that I already had. This time everything was new, and I thought about every look I had. I didn’t want to hold back at all.

You were pretty the first time you were on Drag Race, but now you are stunning. How did you improve your make-up skills in such a short period of time?

Where I was from, I had to paint a certain way or else I wouldn’t get bookings. Travelling the world and experiencing different cultures and looks, I experimented. I was able to learn my face in a new way. I am humbled to learn from so many amazing make-up artists.

You are also, so much more confident then you were on your original season. I love it, but where did it come from?

That happened for me from investing in a lot of therapy and time spent on my mental health with family and friends. I learned not to care about what other people think of me.

Now that you have been eliminated, who do you want to win?

I love both Miz Cracker and Shea immensely, but I am rooting for my sister Jujubee as we have been friends for many years. I think she would be the first Asian to win and that would be amazing for the world right now.

What’s Ahead for Blair?

The future is holding a lot of happiness for me, as I am finding who I am in this world.  I have album coming out called “Identity,” which will be available on all digital platforms. I have been releasing singles every week, and this week’s single was appropriately called “Take Me Home.”

I also have a new human hair wig line coming out called “Hair by Blair.”

Is there anything I didn’t ask you that you want to talk about?

I’m really excited for the future and I want to remind people to be kind and happy and never stop reaching for your dreams no matter where you come from!
