After being the first U.S. film festival to hold in-theater, in-person screenings in 2021 after a year-long quarantine mandate, Miami Dade College (MDC)’s acclaimed Miami Film Festival returns to present its 39th annual edition from today through March 13, in a hybrid format, with both in-theater and virtual presentations. Precious Gem Awards will be presented to Ramin Bahrani (2nd ChanceThe White Tiger) and Ryusuke Hamaguchi (Drive My Car). Art of Light Awards will be presented to inematographer Ari Wegner (Zola, The Power of the Dog) and composer Cristobal Tapia de Veer (The White Lotus). Compass West Palm beach presents “Drag Story Time” reading “My Princess Boy” read by Lupita Hollywood. The event takes place at Rohi’s Readery (600 S. Rosemary Ave, WPB) from 11 am to 12:30 pm.

The 31st Annual Asian Culture Festival taking place at Tropical Park, 7900 SW 40th Street, in Miami today and tomorrow, Sunday, March 6 from 10am to 5pm. City Place Doral is celebrating its 5-year anniversary as the crown jewel of one of South Florida’s growing cities with a month-long celebration in March. The Bears of South Florida presents a Pool Party from noon to 5pm at The Augustin Fort Lauderdale (1110 Northwest 7th Avenue).
