The Drag Up Fight Back March and rally in San Francisco was a massive event with thousands of people gathering to speak out against hate and show their support for the trans and drag queen communities. The event was organized in response to the over 400 bills introduced in the last couple of months that attack trans people’s rights and drag queens. Many activists, including Honey Mahogany, chair of the San Francisco Democratic Party, and state senator Scott Weiner, spoke at the rally. The event also honored the late HEKLINA, a San Francisco drag icon. The event showed the importance of activism and allyship, even when it doesn’t directly affect those participating.
