In a not-so-shocking development, Donald Trump yesterday named Richard Grenell, a longtime Trump ally, as interim “executive director” of Washington, D.C.’s Kennedy Center. Grenell has been among the most infamous of Trump’s gay MAGA supporters since 2016.

The move follows Trump’s firing of Biden-appointed board members and declaring himself chairman. Grenell, known for his unwavering support of Trump, previously held ambiguous roles under the former president. Announcing the appointment, Trump vowed to reshape the Kennedy Center, stating, “NO MORE DRAG SHOWS, OR OTHER ANTI-AMERICAN PROPAGANDA.”

Meanwhile, critics question Grenell’s qualifications and the legitimacy of his role, as the position of “executive director” does not officially exist.
